Prologue (Part 1)

The events of the prologue may differ between the game, manga, and novel, but in the canon, there are multiple Yuus, each with their own backstory and personality. As I have used the game's opening as an example, it is only fair that I introduce you to our dear in-game Yuu. We awaken in a dark coffin and mere seconds after regaining consciousness, we hear an irritating sound from outside, only to find a weasel.

Later we find out this weasel is a monster named Grim, Grim tries to snatch our uniform away but fails and thus decides to run away. As we chase Grim around this mysterious place we presume to be a school we bump into a strange-looking man, he scolds us for running around instead of "being with the others" and then proceeds to drag us to a room he called "the dark mirror room". there we see multiple other people covered with robes, staring at us. the further we walk in the more tense the atmosphere.

as Yuu looks closer they can make out 7 distinct figures in the front, 'They seem important' Yuu thought. As we get to the front we are presented with the "dark mirror" As the "Ceremony" starts there was a brief pause before the dark mirror states that we do not have any magic, This confused the strange man whom we now know of as the "Headmage", he was shocked! he never thought of such an occurrence. "How can this be? There must be a mistake!" The Headmage said sternly.

However, the "Dark Mirror" confirmed that there was no mistake. "How can a magicless person be taken by the carriage? This is impossible!" The Headmage appeared utterly confused. Before anything else could happen, the weasel that you met earlier suddenly appeared. "Nyeh Heh Heh! If that human doesn't want to be a student, then I, the Great Grim, will take its place!" the weasel shouted.

 before anyone could process what had happened the weasel suddenly started to spit out fire, setting ablaze the entire room.

A Red-haired boy stood up and started to shout "HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT THE DARK MIRROR CEREMONY! I SHALL HAVE YOUR HEAD FOR THIS AGGRESSION!" He was fuming.

he had started chasing after the weasel while repeating the same word "OFF WITH YOUR HEAD" a magical light came out of his wand every time he said that. after the short game of cat and mouse the red-haired boy finally hit the weasel. 

a choker suddenly appeared on Grim's throat, as he sad there struggling he wondered why he couldn't spit out fire anymore. the red-haired man smiled in triumph.

The Headmage sighed as the crisis has been averted, but then remembered about Yuu. "Now what do I do about you?" The Headmage pondered. "well i suppose we shall return you home. please turn to the dark mirror and think of your home, it will then teleport you", Yuu does as instructed. Yuu turns to face the dark Mirror, as they stare into the strange surface of the mirror they thought of home. Moments pass by as nothing happened, the Headmage is Confused.

"Why is nothing happening? you are doing it right, arent you?" Yuu nods at the Headmage's question, He was now confused as to why it isn't working. "this one's home does not exist." the dark mirror said.

The Headmage is now clearly confused, he pondered and pondered of a solution. "well what type of Headmage would i be if i just left this poor person unattended." as he pondered he thought of a solution!

The Headmage has told you to wait as the ceremony finishes. once it had concluded he led you to an abandoned house. "i must apologize for this is not the best, but there is no other choice" so then you're left there, all alone in this abandoned home, a tad bit shabby, but it must do for now.
